There are millions of starving children right here in the U.S. Children across the country are going without food and other necessities year round. Feed The Children believes that no child should go to bed hungry in this blessed and plentiful country. |
| Isaiah 58: Helping Jewish Orphans & Elderly Hundreds of thousands of Jewish orphans and elderly in the former Soviet Union live in shocking poverty. Many elderly are seriously ill, but cannot afford medicine. Thousands of orphaned children throughout the region live on the streets, while others live in appalling and dangerous conditions in state-run orphanages. The Isaiah 58 program is fulfilling the biblical mandate "to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe him…" (Isaiah 58:7). |
| World Vision: Helping Darfur, Sudan's Children As many as 10,000 people have died monthly since the conflict began in Darfur, Sudan, mainly due to pervasive – and preventable – disease and hunger. Brutal ethnic conflict has driven over 2 million people – mostly children – into homelessness, their huts and villages pillaged, burned, and destroyed. Victims end up living in ramshackle huts in numerous camps along the edge of the Sahara. Displaced families have meager access to food, water, clothing, and shelter. The lives of thousands of children are threatened, their fathers, homes, and communities lost. |
